On April 1, 2016, the newly-passed Horse Racing Licence Act, 2015, came into effect, transferring responsibility for horse racing regulation from the Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). As the 2016 race season gets underway, senior Judges and Stewards will be holding information sessions to explain what is changing – and not changing – as a result of the integration of the ORC into the AGCO.
